A documentary of the rise and fall of the Third Reich, shown from archival footage, home movies, and propaganda films. Part I traces Hitler's rise to power and his first years in offfice. Included are biographies of Joseph Goebbels and Martin Borman, as well as scenes from the construction of Hitler's hideaway in the Alps. Part II presents Hermann Goering's home movies of life at the Berghof, plus interviews with top Nazis. Part III deals with Hitler's conduct of the war, plus Rudolf Hess' unsuccessful peace mission to England. Part IV shows the final days of the war and its aftermath, including an interview with Goering after the war.
