Boy makes friends with four-legged beast. Dad thinks the horse is full of wild oats, but young Roddy trains it to be the best gosh darned horse in pre-Disney family faredom. Based on Mary O'Hara book, followed by "Thunderhead, Son of Flicka," and TV series.
