"Spirit and Nature" is a fascinating and timely documentary about the connection between religion and the environment. Six speakers are featured from an internatonally attended conference at Middlebury College in Vermont. The speakers are: The Dalai Lama; Native American Elder Audrey Shenandoah; Islamic Studies professor Sevyed Hossein Nasr from George Washington University; Protestant theologian Sallie McFague from Vanderbilt Divinity School; Rabbi Ishmar Schorsch from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America; and professor of social ethics Ronald Engel, from Chicago University. Each speaker discusses current attitudes toward the environment, as well as modified philosophies toward nature for a more sympathetic and productive environment.
