Favelas are the slums that are growing in and around Sao Paulo, the industrial center of Brazil. Driven from the country by drought and economic failure, this video profiles the people who have come to the city in search of a better life. Instead they face disease, infant mortality, crime and myriad other hardships. In Portuguese with English subtitles.
