Power of Myth, Vol. 2: Message of the Myth Movie Review 1986

Second volume in this extraordinary series first aired on PBS examines the appropriateness of applying ancient myths to modern life. After an introduction comparing creation stories from around the world, Campbell suggests that myths provide insight into our spiritual needs and possibilities. He concludes that new mythlogies need to be created because the world and religion constantly undergo change. As the 20th century draws to a close, humanity, regretably, is shackled with myths inadequate for its needs. Hosted by Bill Moyers.
