In volume four of the series produced for PBS, Joseph Campbell examines the need of every individual to find a "place of creative incubation" in today's impersonal, high tech world. This sacred place is essential for developing a positive feeling for what life is about. Campbell and host Bill Moyers also discusse the part sacrifice plays in mythology, and Campbell concludes that sacrifice, such as a mother's sacrifice for her child, is a symbol for humanity's need for rebirth.
