Jan Peerce: If I Were a Rich Man Movie Review 1990

A biography of Jan Peerce, a tenor with the Metropolitan Opera. Peerce's 25 years with the Met are reviewed in various performances, including pieces from Verdi's "La Traviata" and "Rigoletto," and "Eugene Onegin" by Tchaikovsky. Also presented are rare clips of Peerce's fledgling opera performances and his stint as a popular artist. The anchor of this video is his first appearance on Broadway in "Fiddler on the Roof" as the character Tevye, which resulted in new opportunities for him in the twilight of his career.
