During the late '50s and early '60s, J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI felt threatened by what they saw as a militant black movement in America. They developed the Counter Intelligence Program, or COINTELPRO. This video examines how this organization may have been involved in subverting civil rights movements, and what role it may have played in the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and others.
