Glasnost Film Festival, Vol. 12 Movie Review 1987

In "Are You Going to the Ball?" (1987; 28 min.), former members of the Soviet women's gymnastics team are interviewed. They reveal the incredible sacrifices that were required of them at a very young age and how their rigorous training has resulted in physical impairment. "Tomorrow Is a Holiday" (1987; 18 min.) offers a grim look at the lives of women whose job is to stuff live chickens into metal cannisters and how parallels may be drawn between their own lives and the lives of their beaked victims.
