1989: The 49ers earn the title "team of the '80s" after winning their third Super Bowl victory in ten years. Super Bowl XXIII has been classified as the greatest Super Bowl of all time as it went right down to the wire. The Bengals obviously had not forgotten the defeat they faced in 1981 by the 49ers and gave everything they had into trying to defeat them in 1989. The Bengals were ahead by three with under two minutes in the game when Joe Montana marched the 49ers up the field for one last 49er touchdown. The final score read San Francisco 20, Cincinnati 16. Includes interviews with the six football players eligible for Gillette's most valuable player award.
