Jazz musician Archie Shepp has been playing music since the 1950s and throughout the years has developed political and social theories related to jazz music as a movement. In addition to performing in this film, he speaks on the African origins of jazz, and on what he perceives as the revolutionary purpose of jazz. He also talks about the invisibility and isolation of black people in society.
