First selection is "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," the first film on Holmes produced by Fox. Taut script, sharp and witty dialogue, and attention to production detail make this one of the finest crime adventures ever made. Moriarty is after the Crown Jewels, no less. Universal's first in a series of 11 updated stories based very loosely on Arthur Conan Doyle's famed detective, the 2nd selection is "Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror," the weakest of the series and the only one not directed by Roy William Neill, about Sherlock saving England in WWII by finding a Nazi agent.
