Based on a John Steinbeck story, a Mexican fisherman, living in poverty, finds a magnificent pearl and he thinks it will improve the lives of his family. He is bewildered by what this pearl really brings--liars and thieves. Simple, yet larger-than-life film, beautifully photographed; a timeless picture capturing human nature.
