Private detective Bradford Galt (Stevens) is framed and suspects his ex-partner Jardine (Kreuger) is the culprit. But then Jardine winds up dead. Then there's a guy in a white suit (Bendix) who keeps dogging him and sinister wealthy art dealer Hardy Cathcart (Webb) seems to be pulling everyone's strings. It's a good thing Galt's loyal secretary Kathleen (Ball) believes in the lug. Gripping, intricate film noir.
