Berthe Movie Review 1989

Guy de Maupassant's story of a Parisian physician, Henri, who is determined to rehabilitate Berthe, a mentally and emotionally retarded young woman. Berthe's family succeeds in marrying her to a fortune hunter, but the consequences are disastrous for all.
