A documentary about the reopening of the Dresden Opera House, 40 years after Allied bombers destroyed it when they leveled Dresden and killed 35,000 of its inhabitants. The same opera that had been presented on the night of the bombing, "The Marksman," was performed again in 1985, with former members of the bomber squadrons who had returned on a pilgrimage of peace in the audience.
