Tongue-in-cheek, cult fave has 98-pound weakling Melvin (Torgl) fall into barrel of toxic waste to emerge as Toxie (Cohen), a lumbering, bloodthirsty hulk of sludge and mire. He falls for blind babe Sara (Maranda) and sets out to do good (and get revenge). Set in the legendary city of TromaVille. Billed as "The first Super-Hero from New Jersey." Followed by: "The Toxic Avenger, Part 2;" "The Toxic Avenger, Part 3: The Last Temptation of Toxie;" and "Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger, Part 4."
