Swashbuckling tale about twin brothers (played by Hayward) separated at birth. One turns out to be King Louis XIV of France, and the other is imprisoned and forced to wear an iron mask that hides his identity. Philippe is eventually rescued by musketeer D'Artagnan (William) and the musketeers join forces for action-packed adventure and royal revenge. Remake of the "The Iron Mask" (1929) with Douglas Fairbanks and subsequently remade several times for both TV and the big screen.
