A young Texas farmer comes to Houston to work in a refinery. After work he hangs out at Gilley's, a roadhouse bar, where he and his friends drink, fight, and prove their manhood by riding a mechanical bull. Film made Winger a star, was an up in Travolta's roller coaster career, and began the craze for country western apparel and dance and them there mechanical bulls. Ride `em, cowboy!
