Theron de-glamorizes once again to play Josey Aimes, a hard luck single mom who returns to her Minnesota home town to make a new start. Since the best-paying jobs are working in the mines, Josey decides to become a miner. Eventually fed up with the blatant sexual harassment of her male co-workers and the indifference of her employer, Josey files the first class action lawsuit for sexual harassment in the country (the actual plaintiff, Lois Jenson, sued her employer in 1984). An old-fashioned exercise in social responsibility and the search for justice.
