Surprisingly dull erotic thriller. Writer Hunter is framed for the murder of fiancee Busey, so she assumes the alter ego identity of her novel's sexy heroine in order to hunt for the killer herself. She takes a job as a relay telephone operator for the deaf so she can contact deaf D.A. Matlin. But Matlin has a sexually obsessive relationship with boyfriend Roberts (who's in whacko mode) and Hunter begins to take a voyeuristic delight in their conversations.
