In 1970, some half a million people came to the Isle of Wight (off the southern coast of England) for a five-day music festival that featured such performers as Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, The Who, Jethro Tull, Joan Baez, and more. Filmmaker Murray Lerner shot more than 175 hours of footage at the time and spent 25 years trying to complete his film.
