Hustler Franklin Hatchett (Tucker) is falsely accused of orchestrating a violent jail break. Ratings-hungry TV reporter James Russell (Sheen) agrees to help Franklin clear his name in return for exclusive rights to his story. The mismatched pair search for stolen jewels, dodge bullets and endure explosive escapes, but this being an action-comedy, there needs to be some laughs. These are provided (intermittently) by the frenzied comic style of Tucker, who easily eclipses Sheen's straight man demeanor (which could be mistaken for acting if you've never seen any of Sheen's previous films). Tucker shows flashes of deserving better material than he has to work with here.
