A fast, complicated screwball masterwork. Newspaper editor Warren Haggerty (Tracy) prints an erroneous story that heiress Connie Allenbury (Loy) is after a married man. Connie sues and in order to defuse the lawsuit, Warren comes up with an elaborate scheme (certain to backfire) that involves his own fiancee Galdys (Harlow) and recently fired reporter Bill (Powell). Remade in 1946 as "Easy to Wed."
