the Thing from Venus Zontar Movie Review

A scientist is contacted by an alien intelligence from Venus and begins doing its bidding, convinced that its intentions are benevolent. Surprise! “Zontar” turns out to be a giant batlike critter who hides in a cave and he's far from friendly; he takes over people's wills with smaller replicas of itself, which implant control-devices in their victims’ necks. This hokey but fun movie is a remake of the noted 1956 Roger Corman epic It Conquered the World. Some might argue that a remake of Corman's rather routine monster film was hardly necessary, but Zontar actually manages to top the original for sheer overacted corny amusement.
