When Worlds Collide Movie Review

Another planet is found to be rushing inevitably towards Earth. Luckily, a companion planet will likely arrive in time to take Earth's place. A select group of people attempt to escape in a spaceship; others try to maneuver their way on board. Oscar-quality special effects and plot make up for some cheesy acting and bad writing. The only movie spaceship to be launched from a ramp rather than the traditional launch pad. The new planet is disappointingly represented only by a poor landscape painting – apparently an elaborate model of the scenery was planned, but time ran out on the production. Followed by a sequel novel, After Worlds Collide, by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer.
