The Wasp Woman Movie Review

Director Roger Corman is at it again, this time dishing up the tale of a female cosmetics mogul (Susan Cabot) who unwisely tests a beauty-potion made of wasp enzymes on herself. As a result, she starts moonlighting as a hokey-looking wasp-headed fiend. That'll teach her! Anthony Eisley is her prospective boyfriend, who unfortunately seems to prefer her assistant Barboura Morris. Not what you'd call blindingly original, it's still good schlocky fun. Interestingly, the monster in the film was a reversal of the one depicted on the movie's poster, which showed a sultry woman's face attached to a humongous wasp. Extant prints have added footage shot to fill television time slots. Evil Spawn (1987) was an unofficial remake.
