2010: The Year We Make Contact Movie Review
Even though the sequel doesn't come close to the first film in style or originality, it's still fun if viewed simply as a good potboiler. The plot inventively answers most of the questions left hanging by Kubrick and Clarke. Americans and Russians unite to investigate the abandoned starship Discovery's decaying orbit around Jupiter and try to determine why the HAL 9000 computer sabotaged its mission years before, while signs of cosmic change are detected on and around the giant planet.
