Leagues Under the Sea (20,000) Movie Review

From a futuristic submarine, Captain Nemo wages war on the surface world. A shipwrecked scientist and sailor do their best to thwart Nemo's dastardly schemes. Buoyant Disney version of the Jules Verne fantasy led to a fresh crop of Verne movies, but only Journey to the Center of the Earth came close to this one in quality. Outstanding special effects and a lively cast, with only Paul Lukas failing to make a strong impression. A big hit, it firmly established Disney as a live-action feature studio.
