TekWar Movie Review

It's 2044, and society is plagued by “Tek,” an illegal, addictive microchip that creates powerful virtual-reality fantasies. Disgraced excop Jake Cardigan (Greg Evigan), sent into cryogenic prison for Tek possession, gets early parole so he can assist the Cosmos Detective Agency in their search for a missing scientist. TV movie based on the first of William Shatner's Tek books (which could have been retitled “Cyberpunk for Dummies"), is more fun to watch than the novels are to read, with some clever set designs, costumes, and f/x abetting a plot that's little more than updated gumshoe cliches. Subsequently a TV series.
