Sword & the Sorcerer Movie Review

Good, and at times gooey, special effects, along with a decent I-wish-I was-Errol-Flynn performance from Lee Horsley make this a worthwhile fantasy swashbuckler. Prince Talon (Horsley) and his band of tough and loyal mercenaries fight to regain his kingdom from King Cromwel, who, along with an evil sorcerer awakened from a thousand-year sleep, had killed his parents eleven years ago. Babes-a-plenty, lots of steel-on-steel action (although the three-bladed sword is more than silly), and an outrageous self rescue from a crucifixion-by-impalement make up for the at times bad dialogue.
