Rollerball Movie Review
James Caan is utterly convincing as a troubled jock in the near-future who can't escape the game. Though the film was meant to be a critique of violent sports and the public's reaction to them, it undercuts that message with its own visceral thrills. Word has it that during breaks in the filming, the crew actually played a version of the game on the sets! Flashy, shocking, sometimes exhilarating.
