Rocketship Movie Review

Based on the popular comic strip of the ‘30s, Flash Gordon battles sea monsters, ray guns, and robots in this sci-fi adventure, which is an edited version of the first Flash serial. Although cheap looking today, the Flash Gordon serials were really the best ever made, with plenty of action and gadgetry to amuse young viewers. However, they were meant to be viewed one chapter at a time. These edited feature versions have a tendency to sacrifice proper pacing and become a monotonously continuous montage of captures, fights, escapes, and rescues.
