Prototype Movie Review

Intelligent TV pic is the kinder, gentler side of the Frankenstein legend. Scientist Christopher Plummer perfects an inquisitive, ultra-logical android (David Morse) but learns that the military intends to train the prototype as a super-soldier. He and his discovery go on the lam together, but don't expect action chases or Terminator f/x blowouts; the drama centers on the warm father-son relationship between creator and creation. Script by the award-winning team of tube veterans Richard Levinson and William Link.

1983 100m/C Christopher Plummer, David Morse, Frances Sternhagen, James Sutorius; D: David Greene; M: Billy Goldenberg. VHS, LVLIV
