The People that Time Forgot Movie Review

A totally unnecessary sequel to The Land that Time Forgot, based, once again, on an Edgar Rice Burroughs novel. Compared to this adaptation, Burroughs’ no-frills pulp fiction reads like Tolstoy. A rescue team returns to the lost land of Caprona to rescue Bowen Tyler, who was abandoned the end of The Land that Time Forgot. This time, in addition to the rubbery, unconvincing dinosaurs and frantically overacting cavemen, they encounter a lost race of samurai who are holding Tyler captive. Their leader is a fat bald guy looks like Tor Johnson with big eyebrows. The heroes consist of various tiresome stereotypes: an absent-minded scientist, a drunken pilot, a couple of spunky heroines, and an outspokenly chauvinistic hero. The film is not without a chuckle or two – watch for the remarkably lifeless pterodactyls.
