New Eden Movie Review

Setting is an arid prison planet in 2237, where an Earth political dissident winds up in charge of a peaceful refugee settlement. Meanwhile his old cellblock pal fights his way to leadership of the barbaric Sand Pirates. It's a case of old wine in new genres, taking the old western/gangster plot of the two buddies who walk different paths and wind up confronting each other from opposite sides of the law. The only thing not utterly predictable is that Pat O'Brien ain't in it. Made for cable TV.

1994 (R) 89m/C Stephen Baldwin, Lisa Bonet, Tobin Bell, Michael Bowen, Janet Hubert-Whitten; D: Alan Metzger; W: Dan Gordon; C: Geoffrey Erb. VHS, LV MCA
