The Mysterians Movie Review

Caped aliens land their saucers on Earth and release the giant death-ray-shooting robot bird Mogella, hoping to find some fresh tail to replenish their race after the home planet was destroyed by a nuclear explosion. Even though alien, this “big monster” was also a result of the misuse of nuclear power (the aliens only need to be here because of the nuclear disaster), so once again Japan is portrayed as the victim. Directed by Inoshiro Honda, who also directed the original Godzilla, with music supplied by the Japanese classical composer Akira Ifukube. AKA: Earth Defense Forces; Chikyu Boelgun.
