Meet the Hollowheads Movie Review

Futuristic sitcom-style family have Dad's boss over for dinner in hopes of securing that promotion that he so richly deserves. Slicing off a chunk of some prime-tentacle from the kitchen's living food supply, Mom cooks up a sickly gourmet delight, but the guest of honor has something else of her's in mind. Juliette Lewis starts to show her one-sided acting talents as the dysfunctional daughter. Trying to be one of those entertainingly weird alternative-world grossout comedies, it almost succeeds, but most of the cast seems a little uncomfortable, and the whole thing has been done better (The Dark Backward for example).

1989 (PG-13) 89m/C John Glover, Nancy Mette, Richard Portnow, Matt Shakman, Juliette Lewis, Anne Ramsey; D: Tom Burman; W: Tom Burman. VHS, LV MED, IME
