Iceman Movie Review

A frozen caveman is brought back to life, and proceeds to experience some rather severe culture shock. Gentle scientist Timothy Hutton tries to befriend him, even though his colleagues seem intent on dissecting the befuddled Neanderthal. The film is a little sparse plotwise, but has some nice acting. John Lone is especially effective as the lost, bewildered “Iceman.” The film manages to be poignant without being sickly sweet or going for cheap laughs, as did most of the “alien being in a strange land” type films that followed in the wake of E.T.: The Extraterrestrial. It's also somewhat more uplifting than Quest for Fire.
