Howard the Duck Movie Review

A megabucks megaflop from Lucasfilm, an adaptation of the short-lived, cult Marvel Comics superhero spoof. Alien from a parallel world where everything is ducky, literally, accidentally beams to Earth (to Cleveland, in fact, which is badly portrayed by Marin County, California). First half has Howard trying to fit into human society, amid birdbrained sex and drug jokes. When those fowl gags run dry, the filmmakers give him space demons to fight in a climactic f/x barrage. Despite the fancy visuals, this one's a real turkey. The hero's creature costume looks stiff and lifeless enough to be a decoy.
