Flight of the Navigator Movie Review

A 12-year-old comes back from a walk in the woods to learn that eight years have passed for his family and the rest of the world. Meanwhile NASA finds a parked UFO nearby but can't open it. The bewildered boy is the key and has an incredible adventure in time and space. Disney sf starts with a genuine sense of mystery and wonder, later largely abandoned in favor of comedy as Paul Reubens, in his Pee Wee Herman character, provides the voice of the alien intelligence. Good fun nonetheless, with some cool computer-generated f/x.
