Earth Girls Are Easy Movie Review

Valley girl Valerie (Geena Davis) is having a bad week: first she catches her fiance with another woman, then she breaks a nail, then furry aliens land in her swimming pool. What more could go wrong? When the aliens are temporarily stranded, she decides to make amends by giving them a head-to-toe makeover with the help of her hairdresser, Julie “I Like ‘Em Big and Stupid” Brown. Devoid of their excessive hairiness, the handsome trio of fun-loving extraterrestrials (Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey, and Damon Wayons) set out to experience the Southern California lifestyle, with the help of surfer dude cum pool cleaner Michael McKean. Stupid, stupid, story that actually works, thanks to a colorful and energetic cast. Sometimes hilarious scifi/musical, featuring bouncy shtick, Julie Brown's music, and a gleeful dismantling of modern culture.
