The Day After Movie Review

A powerful drama which graphically depicts the nuclear bombing of a Midwestern city and the after-effects on the survivors. A talented cast made the most of the then very topical and frightening material. Originally made for television, this film was the subject of enormous controversy when it aired in 1983. In the tradition of the best science-fiction horror films, it allowed a nation for whom nuclear war seemed a daily possibility to live out its worst nightmare, gathering huge ratings and vast media coverage in the process.
