The Dark Crystal Movie Review

The Muppets go Tolkien in this ambitious epic from Jim Henson. Jen and Kira, the two last surviving Gelflings, journey to the castle of the cruel, vulture-like Skeksis to return a lost piece to the damaged Dark Crystal and thus heal an ancient wrong. Along the way, they encounter a multitude of strange beings both good and evil. The intricately detailed alien world was designed by children's book illustrator Brian Froud. The abundance of bizarre creatures make up for the familiar plot and make this a film that can be enjoyed over many repeated viewings.
