The Crazies Movie Review

When a small Pennsylvania town's water supply is contaminated with an experimental virus, the residents go on a chaotic, murderous rampage. The army is called in to quell the anarchy, and a small war breaks out. This was George A. Romero's second feature, and followed on the heels of his classic Night of the Living Dead. Unfortunately, though Romero proved once again it was possible to make an impressive film outside the Hollywood system, The Crazies’s overall impact was dulled by its muddled approach to its subject matter. The movie is still disturbing, but it hasn't aged well; today it just seems dated and confused. Romero would go on to make better films, like 1978's vampire thriller Martin. AKA: Code Name: Trixie.
