Chopping Mall Movie Review

A freak electric storm unleashes killer security robots on a coed band of teens holding an after-hours slumber party inside the mall (where they can test out the mattresses, wink wink). The robots, created by Robert Short, carry most of the action, and they're pretty good; imagine R2D2 gone bad and you've got the idea. Otherwise this is trivial, low-grade stuff by Roger Corman alumni, laden with B-movie in-jokes (brief cameos by Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov reprise their characters from the cult comedy Eating Raoul), gore, and sleaze. AKA: Killbots.

1986 (R) 77m/C Kelli Maroney, Tony O'Dell, Suzee Slater, Russell Todd, Karrie Emerson; Cameos: Paul Bartel, Mary Woronov, Dick Miller; D: Jim Wynorski; W: Steve Mitchell, Jim Wynorski; C: Tom Richmond. VHS, Beta LIV
