Body Melt Movie Review
Crazed doctor unleashes a new drug on the unsuspecting citizens of a small New Zealand town, causing both violent insanity, graphic internal blood mutations, and, ultimately, equally graphic total meltdown. The characters are not as interesting (nor the acting as good) as 1987's melting-rotgut epic Street Trash, and director Phillip Brophy has a long way to go to match fellow grossout director Peter Jackson in style, humor, or even sickness, but there are enough flashes of gorific fun to appeal to most midnight movie fans. Inbred family, with a horse-faced daughter “hungry” for love, is a killer.
