Beyond the Stars Movie Review

Christian Slater is a problem kid bent on an aerospace career, who befriends reclusive Apollo 11 astronaut Martin Sheen, still bitter over the NASA cover-up of a deadly accident on the moon. Weak drama with sci-fi overtones that come too little too late, though it's a novelty to see a movie that heavily promotes the hobby of model rocketry (Estes rules!). David Saperstein, the original author of Cocoon, wrote/directed from a script that turns to Save-the-Whales when it runs out of other messages. Interesting cast.
