Tito and Me Movie Review
Yugoslavia's Tito and Me has a great deal of the charm of the early “Our Gang” comedies, showing childhood on its own unique terms. Its protagonist is a little boy named Zoran who idolizes Marshall Tito. He wins a school essay competition in which he explains why he loves Tito so much and then finds himself in the midst of a group pilgrimage to visit the dictator's place. Confronted with the authoritarian nature of the group's leader, Zoran's personality asserts itself again and again and his worship of uniformed authority gradually dissolves. Tito and Me is a delight to watch from start to finish and child actor Dimitrie Vojnov is excellent as 10-year-old Zoran. AKA: Tito and I; Tito i Ja.
