Teenage Gang Debs Movie Review

Diane Conti, where are you? The guy I saw the movie with wants to know! Diane Conti IS Terry (she's from Manhattan) who moves to Brooklyn and quickly moves in on the leader of the pack. When he tells her he has to brand her (it's a rule), she decides to have him killed! So she moves in on the second-in-command and entices him to Take Over with herself as bait. She soon has him whipped into shape, but then, she starts picking on the Wrong People in the Gang: The Women. Hasn't this girl read ANY plays by Shakespeare? They're practically a blueprint of what not to do when you Take Over a Gang. Terry looks so cool that first time she walked into the bar, I thought she was a detective working undercover. Sande N. Johnson does some interesting directorial-type stuff on a rock-bottom budget. There's a terrible group dance that was evidently meant to ignite a craze, so everyone at San Francisco's Roxie Cinema applauded charitably. All the rumbles are “choreographed” (someone gets a credit), which basically means that, while the camera's all over the place, you never get to see what's actually going on. I wonder if the cast members ever get together for reunions these days.
